As of June 5, 2018 the visa requirement for United Arab Emirate citizens travelling to Canada for short stays will end as announced by the Government of Canada.

According to Ahmed Hussen, Canada’s Immigration Minister “The United Arab Emirates is a key strategic partner and lifting the visa requirement will help affirm the strong relationship between our two countries,”

The visa exemption applies to visits for the time period of up to 6 months. The purpose of the trip can be for business, visits to family and friends and tourism.


UAE citizens will still have to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to fly to, or transit through a Canadian airport. The eTA can be applied online.




The recent express entry draw that took place on May 30th was program specific & the government of Canada invited 700 candidates.

For the category of Federal skilled trades class, 500 invitations were given to the candidates and the comprehensive ranking score was as low as 288.

And 200 ITAs were issued to Express Entry candidates nominated through the Provincial Nominee Program. The minimum CRS score for these candidates was 902.




According to Conference Board of Canada, Better government support for immigrant entrepreneurs could benefit Canada’s efforts to diversify international trade and strengthen its economy as the immigrant entrepreneurs have good knowledge, experience of international business, language skills, education that is beneficial for the growth country.
